School-Based Dental Services
KKD partners with schools to provide preventive dental services and oral health education

What do we do at schools?
- Oral Hygiene Instruction
- Oral Health Screening
- Dental Cleaning
- Fluoride Treatment (helps keep teeth strong and prevents cavities)
- Sealants (a thin, plastic-like coating that is painted on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth to form a shield over the tooth to prevent cavities)
- Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Floss
How are children signed up for dental services at their schools?
- Schools send home KKD Consent forms for parents to sign and return to school.
- Once a consent form is signed, children are scheduled to receive care at the next dental clinic.
Why we do what we do?
- Millions of school hours are lost each year due to dental related problems
- There are tens of thousands of children from poor families and they have never used a toothbrush; worse still, they have never seen a dentist.
- When we offer school based dental services, it reduces the costs and inconveniences that parents face when taking their children to dental offices
- Children with good oral health have a high self-esteem, this also promotes high performance at school.
- Good dental integrity enhances the overall general health in childhood and later in life.
